Johnson Smith Densbom Wright & Heath, Indianapolis

The light color tones and warm lighting in this suite of law off ices reflect the California influence. Interior windows and glass let natural light into the open and airy lobby, reception and library areas. The designers used contemporary art and abstract pieces to project the Indianapolis firm's young professional image.


Klineman Rose Wolf & Walzak, Indianapolis

The designers capitalized on the building's unusual shape, which allowed for creativity as well as efficient space planning. They chose black granite and mahogany to lend a dignified yet progressive air to the environment. Sleek lighting adds sparkle to this law firm's image of solidity.

Janie Jacobs and Cheryl Schneider teamed up in 1987 after having acquired a combined 25 years of experience working for large commercial design firms. Their area of expertise is office design, though they have worked successfully on several residential projects in indiana as well as out of state.

Real Silk Lofts, Indianapolis

The problem was creating storage space in an old factory that had been adapted for reuse as a condominium. To solve it, the designer took kitchen cabinets to the ceiling's full 10-foot height and made a storage wall with space for two televisions and stereo equipment between the lounging and master-bedroom area.

In a major remodeling project, the former living room was transformed into an entry and the former entry into a guest bath. The designer converted one end of the house into a master suite where there is an office, dressing room and bedroom with fireplace cabinetry containing space for a television, sound system and storage.

David N. Lewis Interior Design dates from 1979 when the principal for whom it is named left L.S. Ayres & Co. to start his own firm. It has grown to a three-man staff and has had extensive experience working on residential and commercial interior design assignments in central Indiana and throughout the state.

Eaton Residence, Indianapolis

The charge was to design an elegant house without sacrificing hominess. Elegance was attained in a formal living room with a hand-carved mantel, a parquetry ceiling and Palladian windows. A kitchen with a breakfast area and room for casual entertaining fulfills the hominess requisite.

This sensitive project involved creating an environment that was consistent with but did not detract from furniture and product displays. Showroom space that can be converted into a computer room makes the interior functional as well as aesthetically pleasant.

During the 25 years of its existence The Rowland Associates has gained a national reputation for integrity in interior design. it has fulfilled commissions from health-care, financial and educational institutions as well as from the lodging, entertainment and dining industries.

Kasler At Home

Kasler At Home, Indianapolis

The design project was to create a 6,000-square-foot space that would promote the synergism between four divisions of Kasler's design business. The commercial space was transformed into an interior design studio and showroom, kitchen showroom and custom building division. The interior design showroom is the core of the space, welcoming visitors and leading them into the adjacent divisions of the firm. Sisal flooring and customed-designed iron grill work are used throughout the showroom for flow and continuity.

Kasler & Associates was founded 13 years ago by Suzanne Kasler, an Indianapolis native and University of Cincinnati graduate. The Kasler At Home office was opened five years ago. The firm's Cincinnati office was opened by Brenda Rixley in 1982. Kasler's mission is to provide quality, timeless designs on schedule and within budget.
